Oriana is an international DJ based in Barcelona, originally from Uruguay. Her sound moves between slow, conceptual sessions and high-impact dancefloors, drawing from Techno, Breaks, Electro, New Beat, EBM and Dark Wave.

Alongside her DJ career, she runs Solitary Listener, a label focused on experimental and boundary-expanding electronic music.

This summer I spent a month touring around Asia, and then came back home to Barcelona. Most of the time I’ve been listening to a lot of music and working on my label, Solitary Listener. I’ve also been producing music for a while now. It’s definitely a long journey, but little by little I’m feeling more comfortable and confident with it.

The mix was recorded from my studio, with views of the sea and the mountains in Cabrils, Barcelona. For the first time, I made a few edits of tracks and included them in the set. The idea behind the mix was to make something that represents me, while also connecting with what inspires me about the Bicep platform. I wanted it to feel fresh and dynamic, so I decided to focus on breaks.

I want to keep dedicating as much time as I can to producing. I’m also currently putting together the fourth EP for my label, which I’m really excited about. I really enjoy the process of bringing producers and graphic artists together, as well as selecting the music. I like giving artists a space to be creative.

It’s not always easy, but being able to contribute my vision and give artists the freedom to express theirs within music culture, and seeing these ideas take shape, makes it all worthwhile.
