A true selector and vinyl digger, Ysanne has spent years behind the counter at Phonica Records, one of London’s most renowned record shops. There, she shared her extensive knowledge of new releases, hunting for the perfect gems to fuel her sets while becoming an integral part of the shop’s community.
Her talents led to a residency with one of London’s most respected independent club promoters, Percolate, where she regularly shares the stage with the likes of Roi Perez, Peach, Ryan Elliott, Job Jobse and Fafi Abdel Nour. Her performances have graced premier venues, from Junction 2 to Drumsheds, Sub Club to the The Cause, as well as festival appearances, including Love International, Waterworks, Body Movements, and Wide Awake, alongside supporting Bicep on the Brighton and Glasgow dates of their Chroma tour.
Her debut productions and remixes have already made waves on labels like Hammer’s Remmah imprint, Eluize’s Night Tide, and Demi Requisimo’s A Lifetime on the Hips. YSANNE is this week’s guest on the FMB mixtape series.
I’ve been enjoying the long hot festival summer, just back from Lost Village and Body Movements and ready to tackle the last festival of the season for me this weekend, I’m playing Waterworks on the RA stage before Alex Kassian which I’m really looking forward to and possibly another set to announce there over the weekend too.
The mix was recorded in my home studio in east London, across a mixture of records and digital stuff I’ve been vibing with recently. No specific directions idea per se, but there’s lots of dubby, wonky and tech house tracks in there, and a couple of classics for good measure.
I’ll be back hibernating in the studio for the winter, finishing up a bunch of new tunes I’ve got on the go which hopefully will be breaking free from the hard drives soon.
