Released in 2011 on New York label Throne of Blood, “EP2” marked an early step in the evolution of BICEP’s sound. Before the duo’s later releases on Aus Music and Ninja Tune, the EP showcased the mix of house, rave, acid and disco influences that would go on to define much of their output.

Featuring tracks including “Silk”, “Purple Sweat” and “Choux”, the release balanced warm analogue textures with driving club rhythms and melodic synth work, while Mark Verbos’ remix of “Silk” brought a tougher, more stripped-back edge. More understated than some of their later crossover releases, “EP2” remains an important snapshot of BICEP’s early years.
