Released in 2021 on Ninja Tune, “Isles” expanded on BICEP’s debut album with a more introspective and emotionally detailed sound.

Released in 2021 on Ninja Tune during the COVID-19 pandemic, “Isles” reflected a more expansive and introspective chapter for BICEP. Written over two years, the album drew on the experiences and contrasts of moving from Belfast to London – balancing feelings of escape, identity, nostalgia and connection through a wide palette of sounds and influences.
Built from more than 150 demos, the record was shaped as a snapshot of that period rather than a strict concept album, combining detailed home listening production with music designed for the club. Across tracks including “Atlas”, “Apricots” and “Saku”, “Isles” blended breakbeats, ambient textures, rave influences and global sounds into one of the duo’s most expansive releases to date.
The album debuted at No.2 on the UK Albums Chart and earned the duo two nominations for Best British Group and Best Dance Act at the 2022 BRIT Awards.
