TAKKUUK ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK + WORLDWIDE SCREENINGS ANNOUNCED.

Accompanying the release of the TAKKUUK Soundtrack, BICEP have announced a wave of worldwide screenings for the documentary visual.

TAKKUUK explores the lives, communities, and challenges faced by artists Indigenous to the Arctic region. The work is both an artwork and a statement – a sensory journey through landscape, voice, and resilience. Created in partnership with the charity In Place of War as part of their EarthSonic project, it continues the duo’s exploration of sound as an instrument of empathy and connection.

The project was created by BICEP (Andy Ferguson and Matthew McBriar), visual artist Zak Norman and filmmaker Charlie Miller, with a collective of Indigenous vocalists including Katarina Barruk, Andachan, Sebastian Enequist (Sound of the Damned), Tarrak, Nuija, Niilas, and Silla. The soundtrack was recorded in 2024 by Detroit-based producer and musician Matthew Dear in Árni Árnason from The Vaccines studio, during Iceland Airwaves festival in Reykjavík.

Across its immersive presentation, TAKKUUK sees Morman and Miller introduce each of the indigenous musicians and their communities. In scenes from greenland, sweden, norway and canada, viewers will witness the impact of their changing worlds, giving us an insight into their everyday lives.
